Lorine is 23 years old and lives with Titus, her three-year-old assistance dog that was trained by the Arthanis Foundation. Her labrador gives her an early warning in case of medical emergencies so that she can take the necessary precautions in good time. Once her acute symptoms have subsided, Titus also supports her by providing deep pressure therapy, which helps to lower her heartrate and stabilise her again.
In the video, Lorine explains how her life has changed thanks to Titus: she can go shopping on her own again, visit museums, or meet friends at the cinema – all things that used to be unthinkable. Titus doesn’t just give her security, but also a new purpose in life.
Having an assistance dog has shown Lorine just how much she loves working with dogs. Now, she’s dreaming of becoming a dog trainer and having the chance to train dogs for people in need with the Arthanis Foundation.
