How does the animundo tracker work?
The tracker attaches to your pet's collar, records motion data and can also send live GPS data. This information is sent straight to the animundo app, where you can keep an eye on your pet's activity and location at all times.
Why does the tracker come with an annual plan and recurring charges?
The animundo tracker has a built-in SIM card so that you can receive the GPS and activity data. Those charges are included in the purchase price in the first year. Subsequently, the annual charge is payable once a year.
Can I use the tracker for multiple pets?
A tracker is always assigned to a single pet profile in the app. But you can manage multiple trackers or reassign the same tracker to a different pet. However, each tracker can only be assigned to one pet at a time.
What pets is the tracker suitable for?
The tracker is suitable for any dog or cat that weighs over 5 kg. For smaller pets, you'll need to check whether they can wear it comfortably.
Do I need an Internet connection for the tracker to work?
You need an Internet connection to send the data to your smartphone. The tracker regularly stores the data in encrypted form on a European server so that you can access it at any time.
Can I use the tracker without GPS?
Yes, even without switching on the GPS, you can track your pet's daily steps. However, you will need to switch on the GPS to see your pet's location.
Are there any additional costs?
Unlike with other providers, the data costs for the first year are already included in the price of the tracker. After that, you pay an annual charge of CHF 80.-.
How does the tracker monitor my pet's fitness?
The tracker counts steps and shows you clearly how active your pet has been on a given day, in a week, in a month, or over the entire the year. In addition, you can set daily goals and be notified if your pet hasn't exercised enough.
Is the animundo tracker waterproof?
Yes, the tracker has an IP67 rating. As such, it can withstand up to 30 minutes at a depth of up to 1 metre without suffering any damage, and can withstand rain or short periods of immersion in water without any problems. We don't recommend prolonged swimming with the tracker on.
How long does the tracker's battery last?
Battery life depends on how you use the tracker (e.g. whether or not the GPS is switched on). In the app, you can see the current battery status at any time and be notified when it's time to recharge. Normally, the battery lasts up to 7 days. If the GPS is continuously switched on, it lasts approx. 7-11 hours. To help the battery last as long as possible, we recommended that you always keep the battery level above 20%.
Can I manage multiple trackers via the app?
Yes, in the settings in the animundo app, you can easily link, unlink or reassign multiple trackers – perfect if you have multiple pets.
What happens if my pet loses its tracker?
If your pet loses its tracker, you can see its last known location in the app. That way, you stand a good chance of finding the device again quickly.
Is my data safe with the tracker?
Yes, the location and activity data is encrypted and stored on European servers to ensure that your data and that of your pet is protected.
Does the tracker also work abroad?
The tracker has so far been tested and proved to work in the following countries: CH, DE, AT, FR, IT, ES, PT, DK, BE, CZ, HU, RO, UK. The tracker uses NB-IoT & LTE-M and network coverage may vary by country.
How big and heavy is the tracker?
The tracker itself is 1.6 cm thick, 3 cm high and 7 cm long, and weighs 31 g. However, including the fastener and Velcro, it becomes 3.7 cm thick and 7.8 cm high, and weighs 43 g.
What collars and harnesses is the tracker suitable for?
The Velcro fastening can be fitted to collars that are up to 4 cm wide.
How do I activate or deactivate the tracker?
You can link the tracker to a pet's profile via the app once it has been fully charged. The integrated SIM card is activated when the device is charged for the first time. This takes about 20 minutes. The best place for this first charge is near a window so that the SIM card has the best possible reception. Then, follow the instructions in the app. When prompted to connect your tracker, scratch the coating off the QR code on the front of the manual and scan it. The app also gives you the option to unlink and reassign the tracker to another pet if need be.
Can I restart the tracker?
The tracker is specially designed without a physical button to ensure that it tracks continuously and cannot be deactivated accidentally while on the move. However, you can restart it by placing it on its charging puck for 3 seconds before removing it for three seconds. This sequence should be repeated 4x. If all the LEDs light up, the device is restarting.
